Policy Features:

  • Duty to Defend

  • Entity Coverage (The organization and its non-profit subsidiaries are Insureds)
  • Coverage for Directors, Officers, Trustees, Employees, Volunteers and Committee Members
  • Spousal Extension
  • Employment Practices Liability (EPL) provides coverage for Discrimination, Sexual Harassment and Wrongful Termination. Also includes coverage for mental anguish and emotional distress.
  • No Failure to Maintain Insurance Exclusion
  • No Anti-Trust Exclusion
  • No Libel, Slander, Defamation Exclusion
  • No Publishers’ Liability Exclusion
  • No Copyright Infringement Exclusion
  • No Insured vs. Insured Exclusion
  • Severability of exclusions and warranties, with certain exceptions
  • Bi-Lateral Discovery (The Association can cancel policy and buy Discovery)
  • Policy can only be cancelled by Insurer for non-payment of premium (if 1year policy)

Travelers Bond & Financial Products previously introduced a specialized D&O coverage for community associations. The new program continues to provide claims made coverage, duty to defend, a broad definition of claim, coverage for the association as an insured, full prior acts coverage, punitive damages where insurable, and employment practices liability coverage.

Working with program manager Kevin Davis Insurance Services, Travelers Bond and Financial Products has enhanced the existing program with:

  • automatic coverage for property managers
  • extending coverage for the builders/developers until the end of the policy year that their service ends
  • providing claims made and reported coverage with notice "as soon as practicable" after the end of the policy period
