Community Support
Apply for a New Grant
Before applying, please review the three areas of focus as outlined in our Grantmaking Guidelines. Travelers provides project/program, operating and capital support for programs in the following three areas: Education, Community Development and the Arts & Culture. Please note: capital requests will be considered on a very limited basis in Hartford and St. Paul/Minneapolis exclusively.
If you believe your organization is eligible for funds, please complete our new pre-application. Once your pre-application has been reviewed, Travelers will invite full proposals only from those organizations that best align with our foundation's goals and guidelines.
Funding requests are accepted on an ongoing basis and will be reviewed quarterly. The 2010 Grant Cycle opens November 23, 2009 for all applications.
The second part of your application will be due on the following deadlines, therefore, we recommend you initiate your pre-application at least three weeks before these deadlines.

Grant Reporting Requirements
Grantees will be prompted to give information on their previous year's grant when applying for additional funding via the online pre-application form. Typically grant reporting takes place approximately 9 months after the grant approval date to allow for the appropriate time to consider your new request. Please be prepared to answer the following grant report questions from your previous year's grant at the time of your new pre-application:
- Briefly outline the original goals and objectives, as stated in your proposal.
- What progress has the organization made toward the original goals and objectives? And if progress wasn't made in certain areas, why?
- What important measurable outcomes happened as a result of this grant?
If your organization is not planning to apply for additional funding for the same program/project, but wishes to report on a previous year's grant, please send an email to the Travelers program officer assigned to your grant addressing the aforementioned questions.
