Travelers Actuarial Leadership Development Program (ALDP) provides actuarial development, business knowledge, leadership experiences and a large supportive actuarial/analytical community for individuals interested in pursuing an actuarial/business career in the property casualty industry.
The goal of the ALDP is to attract and develop high potential participants for analytic and business leadership roles.
Program Components
The ALDP gives participants challenging rotations in core analytical functions across the various lines of business. Travelers actuaries are key partners in determining the strategies, risks and rewards of the company. Participants prepare for these roles through assignments in areas such as:
- Management Information
- Modeling
- Pricing and Ratemaking
- Product Management
- Reserving
- Risk Analysis
The ALDP provides outstanding exam support in the form of study hours, a study facility, books, materials, exam fees and bonuses. Our exam success rate significantly surpasses the national average.
Training and Development
Because ongoing technical and non-technical training is critical to developing expertise, ALDP participants attend workshops in communications, information resource management, strategic planning and effective leadership, as well as technical courses that are taught by our own actuaries.
In addition to our training opportunities, each ALDP participant is mentored throughout the program by a more senior member of the actuarial community.
