Whenever a Travelers policyholder incurs a loss involving their home, auto, business or personal property, they rely on one of our 13,000 highly-trained Claim professionals to help them get their life or business back together. Claim professionals encounter issues involving auto, property, liability and workers compensation losses of all types on a daily basis.

Program Components

As a developing Claim professional, program participants will learn effective strategies for investigating, negotiating and resolving claims thoroughly, accurately and efficiently. Understanding what happened, estimating damage, determining what coverages apply and helping our customer through the process are fundamental to this role. Because we offer a wide variety of insurance products to both individuals and Fortune 500 businesses, there are always opportunities for program participants to learn new skills and grow throughout their career.

Training and Development

Participants will undergo a structured training program consisting of classroom training in our state-of-the-art Claim University facility, online courses and on-the-job training. Claim University contains eight classrooms, a 400-seat auditorium, a Property Lab containing two full-size, fully furnished residential homes complete with full mechanicals, a fully-stocked convenience store, an Auto Lab with more than 30 vehicles used to demonstrate various types of damage and the industry’s first Heavy Equipment Lab containing construction equipment, tractor-trailers and cranes.

In addition to Claim University, participants will be guided by mentors, especially as they learn to handle their initial claim assignments. Throughout their career at Travelers, participants will continue to build relationships with colleagues and increase their skills so they learn to confidently handle claims of increasing complexity and severity.
