TRAVELERS is hiring for a Claims Services Assistant. Reporting to the Team Leader, Warranty department, the incumbent will be working in our Warranty department in our Vancouver office.  In this position, the successful candidate will be part of the claims team and be responsible for administrative functions related to Home Warranty claims.  

Job Specifications
:

  • Field incoming claims inquiries and providing advice with respect to policy coverage, legislation and claims procedures
  • Responsible for opening, closing and tracking claims files
  • Prepare correspondence and following up with builders and owners
  • Prepare contracts for repair work, consulting, and technical services
  • Responsible for claims related invoicing and payments
  • Schedule claims adjustments, repair work and follow up as required
  • Update, tracking and monitoring claims activity in system database
  • Act as a member of a fully functional team, and coordinating the efforts of technical representatives, underwriters, and the claims analyst 
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date and orderly file system
  • Assist the department with additional administrative duties as require

Job Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in office administration
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of the Homeowner Protection Act, Building Code, and Strata Property Act in British Columbia is an asset
  • Sound knowledge of all claims procedures, including established claims protocol and residential construction knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Good time management skills and the capacity to prioritize workload
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must be self-motivated to meet daily expectations with minimum supervision
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Willing to put forth additional effort and take on extra responsibilities with enthusiasm
  • Customer service orientated
  • Strong computer processing skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
