I accepted a position in the Financial Management Leadership Development Program (FMLDP) because of the passion and enthusiasm of the senior managers and current participants I met during my interview. Their belief that this program developed its participants into future leaders was very impressive. Besides being an excellent learning experience, the program has allowed me to expand my network in the finance community and across the company. I am actively involved in several company committees, including the Bentley College recruitment committee, the LDP networking and community outreach committees and the INROADS committee.
Life in the FMLDP
As an FMLDP participant, I have the opportunity to work in one specific area of the company to see exactly how that area functions on a daily basis and how it fits within the organization as a whole. As I continue the program, I will also have the opportunity to rotate to different units within the finance community to get a better sense of how finance works in a large corporation.
My first rotation was in Commercial Accounts Finance, a unit responsible for financial reporting. I was responsible for the monthly and quarterly reporting of earnings for Boiler & Machinery, analyzing variances, producing reports used to determine adequate reserves and many other duties related to the financial close.

All of these are essential for the continued growth of young professionals like myself and motivate me to perform beyond expectations.
