Support
Toll-Free Lab Helpline - 1.800.842.0355
Most laboratories offer technical assistance. We feel that the Travelers helpline is superior to other labs in that technical staff members, such as chemistry group leaders, chemists and industrial hygienists, answer the lab helpline. We do not have non-technical client representatives staffing the helpline. The helpline is answered by staff members, not a voicemail system. Our goal is to assist you in gathering information quickly and accurately on virtually any IH topic.
100% Peer-Review of All Sample Results
-
Highest quality of analytical results available.
-
Peer-review 100 percent of the sample results.
-
Wide range of analyses are conducted under a strict quality control/quality assurance program that meets or exceeds AIHA standards.
Methods Development
-
We have researched, developed and validated many methods for major chemical and pharmaceutical clients.
-
We are available and willing to research sampling and analytical techniques for the non-routine analyte.
Electronic Transmission of Lab Reports
We can e-mail lab reports to you at no extra charge. This can be done on the same day as the completion of the analysis. Your reports are transmitted in MS Word format.
Redundant Instrumentation
We have several instruments for each category of analytical technique. If an instrument needs repair, we have back-up instruments so that your samples can be analyzed quickly.

Comprehensive Analytical Scan Service
Through our unique Comprehensive Analytical Scan Services (CAS), we identify the presence of unknown contaminants in addition to the analysis that you request. This provides you with additional information about your sample at no extra charge!
Organic Vapors
This service applies to all routine organic samples collected on activated charcoal tubes and passive organic vapor monitors that are desorbed with carbon disulfide, analyzed by GC/FID. The samples are analyzed using Gas Chromatographic conditions designed to detect a wide variety of the most commonly encountered organic solvents. When extraneous compounds are detected above a triggering value, they are immediately identified at no extra charge to the customer.
Metals
This service applies to all air samples collected on filter media provided by the Travelers Industrial Hygiene Laboratory and analyzed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectroscopy. Comprehensive Analytical Scan Service will detect the presence of the following metals:
Aluminum, Antimony, Barium, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Lead, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Silver, Tin, Vanadium, and Zinc.
If any of these metals are detected at or above the triggering level, then the presence is automatically reported to the customer at no extra charge. The triggering level is set at three times the limit of quantification for each metal.
Communication Results
The customer will be informed that extra compounds (or metals) were detected and asked if quantitation is desired. If quantification is desired, the samples will be resubmitted and charged as a new sample submission. If quantitation is not desired, the presence and identity of the extra compounds will be noted on the analytical report (at no extra charge) unless otherwise requested by the customer.
XRD Experience
Silica analyses by X-ray diffraction has been performed for the entire 25 years of accreditation. We have a staff of chemists that have more than 20 years of experience operating and interpreting the X-ray diffraction results. X-ray diffraction is a complex analytical technique that can not be learned in a few months. We offer many years of expertise.
