Development Programs

Technical Development Program

The Technical Development Program is designed to prepare highly-motivated college graduates for a technology career at Travelers. The program, which offers a technology curriculum that includes training in cutting-edge technologies and insurance, has two paths: 

  • Technical Path, which focuses on advanced programming/analysis tasks including estimating design, analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, implementation of programs and production support.
  • Business Systems Analyst Path, which focuses on business requirements, design development, testing, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of department/division systems.

The Technical Development Program is a three-year program with a series of rotations that increase in complexity in technology and business, depending upon prior work experience. A typical rotation is no more then 12 months in length.

Requirements

You should have a passion for technology and possess an IT-related undergraduate degree. Additional requirements include:

  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Preferred prior internship or work experience
  • Motivation to succeed
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Analytical skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States

Suggested Majors for the Technical Path

Computer Science, Computer and Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics with a minor in Information Technology and Management Information Systems

Suggested Majors for the Business Systems Analyst Path

Business Administration, Information Technology and Management Information Systems
