Diversity Recognition

Travelers has been selected a 2007 Best Diversity Company in a readers’ choice survey for Diversity/Careers in Engineering & Information Technology.  Readers were asked to identify the companies they associated most strongly with a number of diversity attributes such as support of minorities and women, attention to work/life balance and commitment to supplier diversity.  Diversity Careers in Engineering & Technology is a business magazine that covers issues of interest to engineers, scientists, information technology professionals and business owners who are members of the diverse (multicultural, female, disabled, gay/lesbian) technical community.

Travelers received the Top Employer Award in Connecticut in the area of hiring persons with disabilities.  The award was presented by The Connecticut State Department of Social Services and the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services at the 2007 Employment Summit.  Travelers was recognized for it’s participation in the Connect-Ability initiative which is a new four year federal funded grant initiative that brings Connecticut employers together with the State’s talent pool of people with disabilities.  Click here to view a Connect-Ability video that features Travelers employee Bill Schiavo.
