Travelers home safety
Travelers is pleased to announce that it will partner with the NeighborWorks® Insurance Alliance, a program of NeighborWorks® America, a nonprofit organization created by Congress to provide financial support, technical assistance and training for community-based revitalization efforts, to launch its Travelers Home Safety program. Travelers Home Safety is an interactive CD-ROM designed to educate low to moderate income urban home buyers/owners on ways to mitigate risks they may encounter in the home. Homeowners can use this information to take the necessary steps to prevent or mitigate losses and reduce insurance premiums.
Travelers will provide copies of the CD-ROM to the more than 235 NeighborWorks America affiliates across the country at no charge. This program is part of Travelers community partnership activity supporting fair access to insurance initiatives. The program will be provided by NeighborWorks® as part of their homeownership education workshops for consumers who are participating in a home ownership program provided by community based and housing organizations for low to moderate income urban home buyers/owners.
What topics are included in the program?
Information you can find on the CD-ROM based program includes various home safety tips like fire mitigation, preventing theft at your home and calling 811 before landscaping or making outside repairs to identify underground utilities that could be harmful.
