The Investment Analyst Development Program at Travelers provides high-potential graduates from select universities the opportunity to work alongside industry experts and play an active role in the investment decision making of Travelers’ $70 billion fixed-income investment portfolio. Individuals on our associate analyst team have diverse educational backgrounds and grew up in many different areas across the U.S.
"After various internships in finance as a college student, I decided to pursue a full-time job in investments. Like so many students with similar interests, I first focused my search on New York City and Wall Street-type firms. Fortunately, I also found out about a unique buy-side opportunity with Travelers’ Fixed Income Investments.
Immediately upon joining the program, I received extensive training and was partnered with our Oil & Gas and pipeline high-grade and high-yield corporate bond analyst and our municipal bond portfolio manager. I have since gained expertise and credibility far in excess of what I could have achieved elsewhere, and have been responsible for making investment decisions impactful to our $70 billion portfolio. Complementing this is the support I’ve received in pursuing the CFA designation.
Having grown up in Connecticut it was a difficult decision to leave the East Coast behind. But given the knowledge and experience I’ve accumulated here, and the people I’ve had the pleasure to work with, I can confidently say I made the right choice."

"My focus when going through the job search process as a senior in college was to find an opportunity to learn and grow in a collaborative environment made up of highly-motivated and exceptional individuals. For these reasons, choosing to join Travelers' Fixed Income Investments was a no-brainer, and I have not been disappointed. The training program was incredibly helpful and designed to maximize the amount of information absorbed, while also allowing time for real work to be completed and to fully integrate into the department and the quantitative team.
Originally from Tallahassee, Florida, I looked at moving to Minnesota as an exciting new challenge, and have found the Twin Cities a remarkable place to live with abundant culture and the nicest people you’ll ever meet. This, along with the passion I encountered here, has motivated me to work hard and gain invaluable experience very quickly. It is hard for me to envision a better opportunity."
