G.I. Jobs magazine has recognized Travelers as a Top Military Friendly Employer® for its military-friendly hiring practices and benefits. With this year's announcement, Travelers has been recognized on the list consecutively for the last six years.
"Travelers has been doing some great things to honor our country's heroes and to increase its hiring efforts aimed at transitioning military personnel," said Jim McMahon, director of Talent Acquisition and a member of Travelers' military recruiting team. "It's a tremendous compliment to be recognized on this prestigious list one year, much less year-after-year."
Travelers is committed to military hiring
Travelers actively recruits transitioning junior military officers, service personnel and military spouses for opportunities as product and project managers, property and auto claims adjusters, medical case managers, information engineers, attorneys, investigators, Risk Control consultants and various other positions across the company. A team of recruiters and employees with previous military experience works on an ongoing basis to build relationships with a number of military and veteran organizations nationally.
Travelers is a proud supporter of members of the armed forces
In addition to its military-friendly hiring practices, Travelers supports the armed forces and encourages other companies to do the same. Travelers has joined up with American Corporate Partners (ACP), a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping veterans transition to the private sector through one-on-one mentoring relationships with business leaders.
“At Travelers, we’re committed to honoring the sacrifice that individuals within our country’s armed forces make, that’s why we’re involved in programs like our military mentoring partnership,” said John Clifford, Executive Vice President of Human Resources. “We help veterans transition into the workforce and build their careers.”
Travelers stands behind its guard members and reservists
Travelers is also known for excellent benefits for its military personnel deployed on active duty, such as benefits continuation and leave of absence policies. The company provides full benefits and supplements an employee’s military pay for the duration of their deployment. In addition, because an employee's skills and interests can change while deployed, upon their return to work, recruiters are available to meet and determine if current positions are still the best fit for the employee.
