After starting at Travelers in Corporate Finance as an MBA intern, I was offered a position in the Financial Management Leadership Development Program (FMLDP). The FMLDP is an exceptional program that allows participants to rotate through a variety of roles and business units, therefore increasing skills and business knowledge at a rapid pace. The program also consists of classroom training to supplement on-the-job training and offers a formal mentoring program.
After spending three years in the FMLDP, I was part of a division that was spun off to a different company. Recently, I returned to Travelers as a 2VP of Personal Insurance Finance.
For individuals who enjoy variety and a challenging but collaborative workplace, the Personal Insurance Finance department offers an exceptional work environment. The pace is fast but not frantic. There is value placed on setting long-term goals, but with the expectation that we will execute daily to achieve those goals. I enjoy the variety of work and the colleagues who work as part of a true team. We set goals together and develop plans with the goal of improving our division through both strategic and tactical initiatives.
