Title: Director of Business Planning and Analysis, Select Accounts
Years at Travelers: 3
I joined Travelers in 2006 after hearing about the opportunities at the company from a few former colleagues. I accepted a position at Travelers because the opportunities to advance my career seemed endless. Plus, the people I met were exactly what I was looking for – dedicated, hard-working professionals who enjoy new challenges.
As director of business planning and analysis for Select Accounts, I am responsible for the creation and analysis of monthly income statements used by senior management and our field offices. Additionally, I oversee the annual planning process for Select Accounts. This dual role provides me with the opportunity to work with practically every unit within Select Accounts.
The one thing I enjoy the most about my position is the challenges I face daily. My business unit is growing rapidly and change has been a constant in my role from the first day I joined the company. We are always looking for new ways to provide our customers with value-added analytics. In addition, the opportunities to expand yourself through special projects and additional assignments are virtually endless. I have been able to work with people from every level of the organization, which has given me valuable insight into how Travelers and my business unit operate.
Each day presents new and unique challenges from the moment I walk in the door – no day is ever the same. I may start the day working on one task, but three other unanticipated tasks could end up on my desk at any time. It is this type of ambiguity that keeps my role fresh and exciting. I enthusiastically come to work each day knowing that there will be opportunities to solve problems and add value to the organization.
