Title: Director, IT Leadership Development Program
Years at Travelers: 8
As a graduate of the IT Leadership Development Program (ITLDP) and now the program director, I’ve come full circle at Travelers. As a young professional right out of college, the ITLDP was a perfect match for my goals and career aspirations. The program gave me an opportunity to work in different areas and obtain an appreciation for many different IT functions.
Now, as the ITLDP director, I am responsible for recruiting and developing high-potential IT talent. Anybody who enjoys working with highly motivated, ambitious and talented individuals, and wants to help them realize their potential, would love this job.
What I enjoy most about working at Travelers is the culture. It is a flat organization that doesn’t waste time worrying about titles or hierarchical organizational structures. Travelers does not only value results, but also how those results were achieved.
Since I joined the company eight years ago, my expectations have been exceeded. There are a lot of challenging opportunities that require hard work and long hours at times, but that work never goes unrecognized or unrewarded.
Life at Travelers is very much about working hard, but also about enjoying yourself and the work you do. People at all levels know how to work hard and do whatever it takes to do the right thing for the company. But the company takes great steps to ensure that the right people are in the right roles, so most people really enjoy their work. People here realize that hard work doesn’t mean you can’t have fun.
Our innovative IT applications allow us to set industry standards in product delivery and customer service.
