Title: Vice President, Enterprise Operations Service Center
Years at Travelers: 12
I came to Travelers via a merger with another company that occurred in 1996. I accepted a position at Travelers because it was a wonderful opportunity – one that truly was career changing. I was asked to lead a large IT field support staff of approximately 200 employees, which was a more complex organization than I had previously managed.
In 1998, I was asked to create and lead Travelers’ Internet Technology division. This was a fantastic time to be in IT – we shaped Travelers’ vision of how to use the Internet in our business. In 2002, I moved to the Claim Systems division and managed application development and production support teams. I learned a great deal about the Claim business, the real face to our customers.
Since taking on my current role, I’ve been responsible for a data center, four LAN centers, a command center, output processing centers and a number of support organizations that run Travelers’ IT infrastructure. My job is exciting and challenging, and I’m surrounded by great people who are enthusiastic, intelligent and dedicated.
There’s never a dull moment at Travelers. We are rethinking our business at every level and that has created wonderful opportunities for people who would like to be part of the solution. I have always felt supported at Travelers and have been given many opportunities to grow and learn. I’ve been challenged, which has enabled me to do more and be more than I had ever imagined.
Our innovative IT applications allow us to set industry standards in product delivery and customer service.
