Title: IT Infrastructure Relationship Manager
Years at Travelers: 1
Military Branch: Graduate of U.S. Military Academy at West Point and 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Throughout my time in the U.S. military, graduate school and corporate America, I’ve been focused on growing and leading organizations. My experience at Travelers has been no different – my role at the company is a distinctly unique opportunity to leverage my previous work experience and educational experience while supporting the growth of Travelers as a leader in the insurance industry.
I’ve had a diverse background, which includes a degree in engineering management from West Point and a graduate degree in business administration from Harvard University. I’ve had active duty experience in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was deployed to southwest Asia as part of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. I’ve also spent over a decade in corporate America in various manufacturing, service and IT leadership roles.
In 2007, I interviewed at Travelers for the IT infrastructure relationship manager position. In this position, I coordinate the efforts between IT infrastructure and our Personal Insurance line of business. I focus on strategic planning, project support and escalation, issue resolution and process improvement. And I ensure that IT helps support the successful accomplishment of Personal Insurance’s objectives.
I joined Travelers for three reasons: the opportunities available, the people and the business.
I’ve found there are significant opportunities for current and future employees. Employees continue to grow and accept the challenges of this dynamic work environment – openly and willingly. This is exciting!
Throughout my time at Travelers, I’ve been impressed with employees’ candor, intelligence and drive to improve the organization. People understand where the organization is, the challenges ahead and most importantly, the plan to move forward - that’s impressive for a corporation with more than 33,000 employees.
Finally, Travelers is a company with a strong position within a dynamic industry that I feel will continue to be more competitive and challenging in the next decade. As the company moves forward, it is continually focused on being an industry leader in providing innovative products while enhancing and improving its focus on the customer.
