1. Describe what you do at Travelers.
As a Market Director within Select Product Management, I help develop and implement strategies to profitably grow small business insurance in the Northeast region. A key part of my job involves understanding the impact of pricing and underwriting tactics, marketing initiatives, loss trends and competitor actions on our financial performance. A typical day can be spent deciding future price changes, assisting the sales team with a new marketing initiative or speaking with claims and actuarial employees about the latest loss trends.
2. Why would someone want to do your type of job?
My passion for product management is because of the opportunity to solve problems and make decisions that have a direct impact on the company’s financial results. It’s rewarding when actions we’ve taken in the past begin to improve profit and growth for the company. I also enjoy the amount of teamwork and collaboration that a career in product management provides.
