1. Describe what you do at Travelers.
I manage the relationship between Northland Insurance, a Travelers subsidiary, and a large Managing General Agent (MGA), also known as an insurance wholesaler. I’m responsible for auditing and sampling the policies the MGA writes within its authority and take care of referrals for anything outside its authority.
2. Why would someone want to do your type of job?
In my position at Travelers, there is a high level of responsibility and ownership. Every quote and every financial goal is an opportunity for us to shine. I work with great people and get to travel to see my agents for external audits and marketing visits.
3. How would you describe life at Travelers?
As a young professional, I wouldn’t want to work for any other company. Travelers has proven to be a place where I can grow professionally and learn from the best. I’m constantly encouraged, coached and challenged by my peers and management. The sense of community and partnership among people in my department and the support I receive from the management team make it easy to see myself here for a long time.
4. What makes Travelers unique?
The emphasis on professional training and development of its employees makes Travelers unique. As a new hire at Travelers, I participated in the Business Insurance UPDP and was blown away by the training program. It truly exceeded any new hire training offered to me at prior companies.
