Travelers has a remarkable ability to hire exceptional people. Every single person I’ve met at Travelers brings something different to the table. It seems like the people who come to work here every day are not just doing so to earn a salary and make a living – they really enjoy what they do. When people are that passionate about something, it makes a difference in how the job gets done. So many people are working together to make Travelers a success.
As a Product Manager in the Agribusiness division, my job entails a little bit of everything – from underwriting and auditing to making filings and buying reinsurance. Much of my time is spent creating and updating particular products, attending product meetings and traveling to field offices throughout the country. Each day brings something new.
It’s something that influenced my decision to accept a position here. The instructors in the Underwriting Development Program, a nine-week intensive underwriting training course, had a vested interest in my development. Now I’m in a position where my mentors and supervisors have taken the time to teach me the business and help me grow personally and professionally. Their goal has been to help me get the most out of each experience here.
Life at Travelers is exciting. It seems like there is always some big initiative underway or a new project that people are working on. Everyone here has goals and aspirations for their careers. As I continue my career at Travelers, it’s important to me that I’m able to distinguish what I’m looking for, contemplate where I want to be in five years and feel confident that Travelers is the company that is going to get me there. It is especially important to me that I work at a company that understands the value of a strong work ethic, rewards a job well done and recognizes good employees.
