Homeowners and Landlord* Insurance Discounts

We offer many discounts to help you save money on your homeowners and landlord insurance policies. Please compare the list of discounts below to your Declarations to check that you are receiving all the discounts for which you are eligible. If you are not receiving a discount that you believe you should, please advise your Travelers representative immediately. Your Travelers representative is also available to review the information on the Declarations with you.

Affinity Discount (Not available in NY and TN)

Customers who have an association with an Affinity Group and purchase their homeowners and landlord policies through that group are eligible to receive the Affinity Discount. An Affinity Group is an employer, a credit union or an association that has entered into an arrangement with Travelers to offer homeowners and landlord insurance to their employees or members. Eligibility requirements for this discount may vary by state.

Early Quote Discount (Not available in CA and NY)

New Travelers homeowner and condominium customers qualify for this discount if they obtain a quote a certain number of days (for example, 1 or more days) before the coverage effective date of their policy. Homeowner and condominium customers whose immediate prior policy was with a Travelers company qualify for this discount only if the home or condominium on the new policy was newly purchased. This discount does not apply to tenant and landlord policies.

Eligible policyholders generally receive a discount for the first 3 to 5 years of the policy, depending on the state. The discount amount decreases at each renewal.

Early Quote Discount Landlord Insurance (Available only in CT, ME and NH)

New Travelers Landlord Dwelling customers, who rent their home to others qualify for this discount if they obtain a quote prior to the coverage effective date of their Landlord Dwelling policy. Landlord Dwelling customers whose immediate prior policy was a Travelers company qualify for this discount only if the property on the new policy was newly purchased. This discount does not apply to Landlord Condo policies. Eligible policy holders will receive a discount for the first 5 years of the policy. The discount amount will decrease at each renewal.

Good Payer Discount (Not available in CA and MD)

The Good Payer Discount is for customers that consistently pay their Travelers homeowners and landlord insurance bill on time and with sufficient funds for a period of time (such as three years).

Green Home Discount (Not available in NC)

The Green Home Discount applies for customers whose homes are certified 'green' by the Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) organization. This discount is available for homeowner and condominium policies, but does not apply to tenant and landlord policies.

Home Buyer Discount (Available only in CA and NY)

Home Buyer Discount applies to customers that purchased a home within the 12 months prior to the policy effective date.

Loss Free Discount

The Loss Free Discount applies for customers without any losses within a specified time period (such as 7 years).

Multi-Policy Discount

The Multi-Policy Discount provides savings for customers that have one or more qualifying personal insurance policies with Travelers in addition to their homeowners or landlord insurance policy.

Partner Discount (Not Available in AK, CA, CO, DE, FL, HI, LA, MN, NC, NV, NY, RI, TX, WA and WV)

This discount applies to policies issued through a partner group which has entered into an arrangement with Travelers.

Protective Device Discounts

Fire, Theft and Water Protective Device Discounts are available when there are qualifying protective devices present, such as smoke detectors, fire alarms, burglar alarms, interior sprinkler systems, water sensors, and water shut-off devices. Varying levels of discount may be provided, depending on if the device is centrally monitored, local or smart. Smart (i.e. connected home) devices alert the customer via text, mobile app or email when a fire, theft or water event is occurring. Protective device discount availability and amount can vary by state and by policy type.

Windstorm Mitigation Discount (Available only in AL, CT, GA, MA, MD, ME, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, OK, PA, SC, TX and VA)

The Windstorm Mitigation Discount applies to customers who build or retrofit their homes to better resist hurricane or other catastrophic windstorm events.
