Electronic Delivery Terms and Conditions

Revised Jan. 2022

By providing us with an email address and/or agreeing to receive text messages, you consent to receive certain Claim Communications and Documents by Electronic Delivery instead of by regular Mail. This is separate from any enrollment in our electronic billing or policy delivery Program. By continuing to receive certain communications and documents via email or text message, you agree to these eDelivery Terms and Conditions ("Terms and Conditions"). Your consent to Electronic Delivery will remain in effect until:

  • You withdraw your consent in accordance with these Terms and Conditions; or
  • We terminate the Program.

You may request to have any Claim Communication or Document sent to you in paper form by notifying a Travelers Claim professional handling the claim in writing.

We are not liable for any loss, liability, cost, expense or claim arising out of your election to receive Claim Communications and Documents by Electronic Delivery.

Claim Communications and Documents to be Provided by Electronic Delivery

"Claim Communications and Documents" has the following meaning in these Terms and Conditions:

"Claim Communications and Documents" means:

  • Letters, updates, emails, texts, notices, applications or other communications and documents pertaining to an insurance claim.

Currently, some types of Claim Communications and Documents are not available for Electronic Delivery. We will continue to Mail those Documents to you. However, some or all of those Claim Communications and Documents may become available for Electronic Delivery in the future.

When Claim Communications and Documents become available for Electronic Delivery, we may automatically start sending those Claim Communications and Documents by Electronic Delivery and stop Mailing those Documents to you, without any further notice.

Your consent to Electronic Delivery applies both to Claim Communications and Documents that are currently available for Electronic Delivery and to Claim Communications and Documents that may become available for Electronic Delivery in the future.

Method of Electronic Delivery

When we say we will send you a Claim Communications and Document by Electronic Delivery, it means we will:

  • Send the Claim Communications and Document by email, or in an attachment to an email,
  • Send the Claim Communications and Document via text message, or in an attachment to a text, or
  • Send a notice by email or text message that the Claim Communications and Documents are available for you to view on a particular website. In some instances, you will need to create a username and password to access the website and view your Claim Communication(s) and Document(s).
  • Send the Claim Communication and Document through a Travelers portal (e.g. MyTravelers®).

Whether to email or text you the Claim Communications and Document or to send you a notice that the Claim Communications and Document is ready to view online is our choice. We will send the Claim Communications and Document or notice to the Email or Text Address you provide us or through a Travelers portal. If we detect that our email or text to you was not delivered successfully, we may (i) Mail you the Claim Communications and Document, or (ii) Mail you a notice, informing you that your Claim Communications and Document is available to view online.

We may choose not to use Electronic Delivery for certain Claim Communications and Documents or at certain times and, instead, may Mail the Claim Communications and Document. In some circumstances, we may choose to send a Claim Communications and Document both by Electronic Delivery and by Mail.

A Claim Communications and Document we send by Electronic Delivery is considered delivered when sent, unless otherwise mandated by applicable state law. This is regardless of whether you actually access or view the Claim Communications and Document.

Withdrawing Consent for Electronic Delivery

You may withdraw your consent for Electronic Delivery of Claim Communications and Documents by changing your delivery preference. You can do this by notifying a Travelers Claim professional handling the claim in writing.
