Frequently asked questions about the Digital Assistant and claim process
Entering item quantities - Where possible, list each item individually. Items of similar type can be grouped together. For example:
- 10 open-end wrenches, $10 each.
- 10 casual tee-shirts, $20 each.
Entering item approximate costs - If you do not have documentation or don’t know the exact cost of an item, it is ok to enter an approximate cost.
Entering ages - Enter the approximate age of the items in full years. For brand new items, enter 0.
First, complete your lost or stolen contents inventory using the Digital Assistant. Your assigned Claim professional will contact you separately to discuss any building damage.
Once you complete your inventory you will receive a text message with next steps.
Detailed information about payments is provided in your settlement letter. You can expect to see a breakdown of payments, and any deductions (such as your deductible and depreciation, if applicable).
