Wildfire Mitigation Insurance Discounts for Commercial Properties

That’s why we’re committed to helping our commercial customers take proactive steps to reduce exposure and strengthen property resilience. Depending on your location, you may be eligible for premium savings when you complete verified, property-specific wildfire mitigation actions aligned with recognized standards (such as IBHS’s Wildfire Prepared Home™ and similar programs) or when your property benefits from community- or government-led wildfire risk reduction efforts. Availability and requirements vary by state and program – contact your agent, broker or Travelers representative to learn what may apply to your insured location(s).
Colorado
Under Colorado law, insurers are required to provide customers with information regarding potential wildfire discounts that may be available for applicable commercial habitational insured buildings located in Colorado. You may be able to reduce your wildfire premium by completing property-specific wildfire mitigation actions outlined by the IBHS’s Wildfire Prepared Home™ and Wildfire Prepared Home™ Plus program, a similar mitigation program that includes a verification and certification process, or community-level wildfire mitigation actions as demonstrated by a community- or neighborhood-level designation or certification or as undertaken by a government entity. The schedule below identifies the mitigation discounts that may apply to your insured commercial habitational buildings located in Colorado.

*Wildfire peril discounts are applied to the portion of the premium charged for wildfire within the total policy premium. We apply the wildfire mitigation discount only to that portion of the premium applicable to wildfire and not to the total policy premium.
