Terms and Conditions for Participating in the Travelers IntelliDrive® Program

Your participation in the Travelers* IntelliDrive program (“Program”) is subject to your acceptance of the following terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, you should not participate in the Program.

  1. You understand and agree:
    • To download the IntelliDrive app and any updates on eligible smartphones. If you do not download the app you may be removed from the Program. By downloading, installing or using the app you consent to be bound by the app End User License Agreement.1 Cambridge Mobile Telematics is the vendor for the mobile app.
    • If you provided the mobile numbers for other drivers on the policy, you had full authority to provide us with those numbers, to enroll each driver in the Program, and consent to their receiving SMS/text messages as part of the enrollment.
    • The mobile numbers provided are for the smartphone primarily used by and in the possession of each enrolled driver.
    • By sharing your mobile numbers with us, you are providing express consent to receive text messages, calls via automation or other means from or on behalf of Travelers or its vendors.
    • This Program is premised on capturing driving behavior data for each enrolled driver on the policy. As such, each enrolled driver agrees to maintain the app on their phones, carry their phones with them and keep them powered on while they are driving, and to not disable any setting that is required.
    • All enrolled drivers may have access within the app to the Program registration status and the driving performance for other drivers on the policy.
    • The app is intended to be used solely by drivers of legal age and holding a valid state driver’s license.
  1. You further understand and agree:
IntelliDrive collects driving behavior data. The data will be collected for the 90-day monitoring period unless you opt-out as described below. During the time that you have the IntelliDrive app, we may also monitor for crash events.

    • Driving Behavior. The app collects information related to driving behavior including speed, braking, acceleration, time of day, and phone use to determine a driving behavior score. A sufficient amount of driving behavior data must be recorded for each enrolled driver before their score can be used. A sufficient amount of driving behavior data is defined as 500 or more miles of driving, for each enrolled driver, within the 90-day monitoring period. A neutral score will be assigned to drivers that do not obtain sufficient driving behavior data during the monitoring period.

      • The driving behavior data collected from the app is used in rating and could result in the policy premium being decreased or increased.2

      • The app makes predictions about whether you are a driver or passenger. You have the opportunity to correct trips in the app within 10 days of the trip.

    • Crash Detection. The app may detect a crash. If the app detects that you may have been involved in a crash (“Event”), the Event data will be collected by the app. Crash detection may falsely identify an Event or may not record all Events. If you are in an Event, you should seek help as appropriate

      • If the app detects that you may have been in an Event, you may receive push notifications, in-app messages, text messages, or automated calls to your phone for your response to confirm the Event. If an Event is detected, assistance or emergency services may be dispatched to the Event location. The app is not a replacement for 911 and does not guarantee emergency response. Events detected by the app do not initiate a claim under your policy. In order to file a claim, you must report the loss to Travelers. If a claim is filed regarding the Event, the data from the Event may be used in the handling of the claim.

      • Whether services provided or a particular loss is covered depends on the specific facts and the provisions, exclusions and limits of your actual policy.

  1. Ending Enrollment: You may opt-out of the Program within 45 days of enrollment without impact to your policy, other than loss of the enrollment discount. Withdrawals after 45 days from enrollment may affect the policy’s premium.3 If you wish to opt out of the Program, call either Travelers or your agent to do so. Deleting the app does not end your enrollment.

  1. You may elect to complete another monitoring period upon completion of your initial monitoring period, and we may require you to download the app for a new monitoring period.

  1. We reserve the right to revise the terms of the Program and inform you of the revisions by mail, email or text. Your continued participation in the Program confirms your agreement to the revisions.

  1. We may terminate, change, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Program at any time.

These terms and conditions do not amend, or otherwise affect the provisions or coverage of your policy.
