Auto Glass & Windshield Repair Insurance Claims

Still Have Questions?

What are the benefits of using a Travelers partner vendor?

You have the choice to select any repair shop. For your convenience, we have partnered with vendors that can facilitate your glass repair or replacement. When you select one of our partner vendors, they will handle your claim and guarantee your repairs for as long as you own the vehicle.

How do I know if my windshield is repairable?

Whether your windshield can be repaired rather than replaced, can be determined by you (with the guidance below) and your repair facility.

If the chip can be covered by a quarter or the crack covered by a dollar bill, and if the damage is not in the driver's primary viewing area (meaning directly in front of the driver approximately 12" wide extending from the top to the bottom of the wiper sweep area); your windshield may be repairable.

How does my deductible work for windshield repair or replacement?

Generally, you will not have to pay your deductible for the repair of chips or cracks in your auto glass. However, there are factors unique to each situation. For example, if a repair is unsuccessful and the windshield needs to be replaced, a deductible will likely apply. You may also have a policy that includes a lower or no deductible for your glass claim.

In order to view your policy and deductibles, simply log into MyTravelers. Once logged in, click on your Auto policy and then “Policy Documents” on the right side. Select the link to view your policy. Your deductibles and coverages are listed on the pages directly after your insurance card. Not sure you want to register? Can the repairs be done on site at my home or workplace?

Most glass damage can be repaired at a location of your choice, including your home or work. In certain situations, depending on the type of vehicle or extent of damage, you may have to take your vehicle to the glass vendor's facility for the repair.

I've reported my auto glass claim. What's next?

If you have chosen a repair shop and the shop is a Travelers partnered vendor, your information will automatically be routed to the repair facility and they will contact you.

If the repair shop you choose is not a Travelers partnered vendor, we will contact you to advise you of the next steps in the process.

No matter who you choose to repair your glass, your shop will bill Travelers directly for the work and you will only be responsible for paying any applicable deductible.

Will I be asked to sign anything by the glass vendor?

You may be asked to sign a repair authorization or work order. If you have any questions or concerns about these agreements, call us at 800.252.4633.

What should I do if my glass replacement or repairs have already been completed?

You can email your invoice along with proof of payment to glassclaims@travelers.com. If you have already been in contact with us and have an assigned Claim professional, you can send it directly to him or her.
