Auto Appraisal Methods
Assessing the damages to your vehicle is one of the most important steps for resolving your claim after a loss. By using data and analytics, we're improving our ability to apply the appropriate tools and resources to appraise your vehicle's damages efficiently.
Here are some of the options we use to appraise your car in the event of a claim:
Travelers Direct Repair Program1
The Travelers Direct Repair Program offers you access to a large network of high-quality auto repair facilities that can quickly and efficiently repair your vehicle. Travelers stands behind the shops’ guarantee of repairs, for as long as you own the vehicle2 . Our network includes thousands of convenient shop locations across the country and these shops have customer-friendly technology enabling them to provide you repair status updates. Also, our Direct Repair Program partners can arrange a rental, making it as convenient as possible for you to drop off and pick up your vehicle.
When appropriate, we have digital capabilities that allow us to inspect your vehicle without the need for you to wait for an appraiser to assess the car on site. Our advanced technology gives you the ability to upload photos and video of your vehicle damage. When coupled with an electronic payment, Virtual Inspection can provide the quickest path to resolution.
Local Field Inspection
In some cases, your Claim professional will recommend an in-person inspection to assess your vehicle damages. We will work with you to schedule an inspection that will be performed by a local field appraiser.
