BRUNO SARDINHA: Then we collaborate with leaders across the company to embed innovation as part of the business and functional strategies.

LIN PHUNG: This really gives me an opportunity to see what other people do within the company.

CASEY GRAVES: For me, an event like this is all about new ideas and fresh perspectives.

LIN PHUNG: It really brings everyone together and different skill sets. I've spent a lot of time with my teammates, and it's just never enough. We just have a great time.

CASEY GRAVES: Those ideas that are really pushing the boundaries are things that really define the path of the company as a whole.

ALONDRA TORRES: If we're not used to presenting, they also teach us how to build our business case, which is not something that I'm used to doing as a technical person, so having that prep makes me feel more confident.

CASEY GRAVES: You are able to have your voice heard. I'm able to hear ideas that I will have never heard or thought about.

EDDIE MUI: Innovation is such an important part of our company and our culture from top leadership down. It really brings us all together to bring ideas, excitement, and value to our customers.

I love coming in for the opportunity to work with my peers, which allows innovation.

You get the opportunity to all come together to the table for a common goal, but we bring different perspectives, and I love bouncing ideas off them.

When we’re developing something, the first thing on my mind has to be

“How would the customer actually use this”? 

The mobile app, especially, we are doing a lot of things that folks in the company haven’t been able to do before. 

So, having support from leadership to really dive into something that a lot of folks don’t have experience with helps us all learn.

Our virtual visit tool is designed to connect employees to those outside the company.

For example, customers, body shops, injured workers and nurses, etc. 

In addition to the convenience factor of it, tools like this really help the safety of everybody involved. 

My personal philosophy on technology is that it is an open opportunity to improve yourself and the world.

Technology is constantly evolving, and your opportunities are everywhere.

So, if you come in and you think that you like to code, then that’s great. 

But then if you decide later on that you really like the data engineering side of it, you can work to become a data scientist. 

If you decide that you really want to do that infrastructure work, the possibilities are all there for you in one company. 

That kind of learning is something that as engineers, we all need to do. 

What I like about Travelers is simply the opportunity to move to fit your needs, and to move to fit the market needs as well.
