Property Inspection Methods

Travelers is investing in flexible property inspection methods that can provide multiple options for efficiently assessing your property damage. We’ll work with you to determine which of these capabilities is best for your claim.

Virtual Inspection

Virtual inspection allows you to conduct an inspection via live video conference with your Claim professional. Enabled through an application that can be downloaded to your smart device, this method offers accurate evaluation of property damage, potentially without the need for an on-site inspection.

Virtual Measurement

This capability allows you or a Claim professional to capture exact measurements of a property’s exterior with eight ground-level photos taken from a smart device. The measurements are used to create a 3D rendering of the structure, which can aid the inspection and repair process. This rendering includes detailed measurements of doors, windows and siding.

On-Site Inspection

In the event these flexible appraisal options are not suitable for your claim, we’ll work with you to schedule an on-site inspection. Our skilled Claim professionals have the experience and training to evaluate any type of property loss.

Drones

When appropriate, Travelers leverages unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to conduct property inspections. Also known as drones, these lightweight systems are equipped with high-resolution cameras that allow Claim professionals to accurately and safely evaluate your loss. Drones can easily access hard-to-reach areas or be flown over damaged/unstable structures to reduce risks associated with a physical inspection.
