Medical benefits
Employees in CA are entitled to necessary medical treatments for the purposes of curing or relieving the effects of a work-related injury or illness. This can include, but is not limited to, hospital services, doctor visits, physical therapy and prescription medications. There are set limits, defined by the medical fee schedule, on reimbursement for services. Treatment may be subject to utilization review. Even if a claim is ultimately denied, the injured employee is entitled to medical treatment during the investigation period until the claim is denied or up to a maximum of $10,000, whichever occurs first.
Employees are not responsible for any copayment or deductibles.
