Medical benefits
All necessary and reasonable medical care for a work-related injury or illness is covered under workers compensation in Texas. This includes hospital visits, doctor consultations, surgeries, physical therapy, prescription medications, and medical equipment.
If the employer’s insurance carrier uses a certified health care network, the injured employee must receive treatment within that network. Care must be appropriate to the injury and continue as long as it remains medically necessary.
Employees are not responsible for any copayments or deductibles.
